CEN TECHNICAL STANDARDS

The Technical Committee TC 145, within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), deals with the standardization of safety requirements for plastics and rubber machines. We list here below the Working Groups that belong to TC 145, whose Presidency and Secretariat were managed by Amaplast from 1995 till 2021, with the updating of their activity.

Thermoforming machines
WG 10 = EN 12409:2008+A1:2011

The standard EN 12409:2008+A1:2011 was published in the OJEU n. C 61 on 29.2.2012.

Given the systematic review closed on March 3, 2020 the standard was confirmed by CEN Members for five further years (Decision CEN/TC 145 2/2020).

Following the review closed on September 2, 2025, the standard has been confirmed for five further years with CEN/TC 145 Decision n. 7/2025.​

Winding machines for film or sheet
WG 12 = EN 13418:2013

The standard EN 13418:2013 was published in the OJEU n. C 348 on 28.11.2013.
Given the systematic review closed on June 3, 2024 the standard was confirmed by CEN Members for five further years (Decision CEN/TC 145 2/2024).   

Film converting machines for bags and sacks
WG 14 = EN 15067:2007

The standard EN 15067:2007 was published in the OJEU n. C 214 on 8.9.2009.

Given the systematic review closed on March 3, 2020 the standard was confirmed by CEN Members for five further years (Decision CEN/TC 145 4/2020).

Following the review closed on September 2, 2025, the standard has been confirmed for five further years with CEN/TC 145 Decision n. 9/2025.​

Band-knife cutting machines for block foams
WG 15 = EN 14886:2008

The standard EN 14886:2008 was published in the OJEU n. C 214 on 8.9.2009.

Given the systematic review closed on March 3, 2020 the standard was confirmed by CEN Members for five further years (Decision CEN/TC 145 3/2020).

Following the review closed on September 2, 2025, the standard has been confirmed for five further years with CEN/TC 145 Decision n. ​8/2025.​

Tyre curing machines
WG 17 = EN 16474:2025

The standard EN 16474:2025 was published by CEN on October 15, 2025.

Blow moulding machines
WG 18 = EN 422:2009

The standard EN 422:2009 was published in the OJEU n. C 214 on 8.9.2009.

Given the systematic review closed on March 3, 2020 the standard was confirmed by CEN Members for five further years (Decision CEN/TC 145 1/2020).

In 2025 the activity of revision of the standard has started. The Secretariat has been given to DIN and the Convenorship to Mr Mikula Thiem of the German Association VDMA.​



Clamping systems for plastics and rubber machines
EN ISO 23582-1

A work item was created by ISO/TC 270 – WG 3 for the study of an international standard on the safety requirements of magnetic clamping systems according to Vienna Agreement (ISO lead).

The standard EN 23582-1:2023 was published by CEN on April 4, 2023. 


Apart from the standards and draft standards drawn up by CEN/TC 145 (type C), designers shall take into account the "horizontal" (type B) European harmonised standards.
