Founded in 1960 as ASSOCOMAPLAST and changing its name in 2017, AMAPLAST is a non-profit Association representing some 170 major Italian companies in the plastics and rubber machinery, ancillary equipment and moulds industry. AMAPLAST’s main aim is to promote worldwide knowledge and circulation of Italian plastics and rubber processing technologies, which lead the world market in terms of production and exports. Since the early 1950s, Italian manufacturers have offered a complete range of original, reliable and innovative machines.
AMAPLAST members are classified as Effective Members (companies that design, manufacture and sell machines, equipment or moulds for plastics and rubber) and Associated Members (companies that complement the Effective Members).
AMAPLAST takes part in the main sectoral exhibitions abroad with an information booth to help visitors get in touch with Italian companies.
ORGANIZATION
AMAPLAST owns 100% of the commercial company PROMAPLAST Srl, which has the aim of implementing the activity programs decided by the Board of Directors.
PROMAPLAST Srl publishes the bimonthly technical magazine MACPLAS, with a total circulation of 7,000 copies in Italy, as well as the internet version MACPLAS ONLINE (www.macplas.it/en/) and the bi-weekly newsletter MACPLAS E-NEWS. Localized editions are published during the main world exhibitions to accompany the Italian collective pavilions.
Starting from June 2021, MACPLAS, MACPLAS ONLINE, ItaliaImballaggio and Packmedia.net created Packaging Speaks Green, a digital newspaper, in Italian and English, devoted to the sustainable packaging industry. This new magazine count on more than 160,000 readers worldwide who receive a monthly newsletter, in Italian and English, in which there is part of the news published on the digital magazine.
Every three years, PROMAPLAST srl organizes the international exhibition PLAST in Milan. The last edition, on September 5-8, 2023, attracted 38,000 visitors from 109 countries and featured 1,323 exhibitors from 50 countries, over 50,000 net sqm (for more details: www.plastonline.org/en).
PROMAPLAST srl organizes as well the exhibition GREENPLAST - an event dedicated to innovative solutions to boost environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, options for Reducing-Reusing-Recycling, and progress towards a circular economy - that took place in Milan from 3 to 6 May 2022. The exhibition was hold together with other international trade shows (IPACK-IMA, PRINT4ALL, Intralogistica Italia), which represent the best of the Italian mechanics, called The Innovation Alliance. Such coincidence, not by chance, has offered a showcase of several productive sectors, united by a strong complementarity (for more details: www.greenplast.org/en). Next edition is scheduled from May 27 to 30, 2025.
AMAPLAST, through CESAP (Centre for the Development of Plastics Applications), organizes technical training programmes and supports research and new applications of processing technologies and new materials for plastics processors and users.
AMAPLAST is a member of CONFINDUSTRIA (Confederation of Italian Industries) and EUROMAP (European Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association).
