The 29th edition of PLAST EURASIA ISTANBUL, the main annual show in Turkey for the plastics and rubber industry, opened yesterday at the Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center and will last until December 7.
Around 1,088 companies (1.083 in 2018) from 40 countries (44 in 2018) are listed in the official online catalogue (hard copy is no more available).
Around 61 Italian brands and companies are exhibiting, mostly hosted by the local representative (there are only four exhibitors with their own stand, including our Association).
The K effect on foreign direct participation, especially from Germany and Italy, is quite evident.
Good turnout of visitors during the first exhibition day although the expectations were not particularly optimistic, not only because of the proximity of K show but, above all, because of the delicate situation of the Turkish processing industry, which is dependent on imports of raw materials, that are substantially more expensive after the devaluation occurred in summer 2018.
In any case, it is necessary to wait until the end of the exhibition for an overall evaluation.
Mr Fabrizio Vanzan is onsite attending AMAPLAST’s stand (Hall 3, nr 311) to exchange opinions on the local market and on the exhibition, giving also information on our Members, MacPlas magazine and detailed information about the next edition of PLAST (Milan, May 4-7, 2021), to which many prospective exhibitors and visitors have already expressed great interest, not only from Turkey.
We invite all our Members as well as plastics and rubber operators in general to pay us a visit and taste a good Italian espresso.
