On March 3, 2021 the harmonised standards within the frame of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC have been published in the European Official Journal n. L72.

Among these also two type C standards on plastics and rubber machines concerning the safety requirements for calenders (EN 12301:2019) and  for reaction moulding machines and plants (EN 1612:2019) are now harmonised standards, conferring to the machines that apply them correctly the  presumption of conformity according to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (as reported in Annex I of the Commission Implementing Decision EU 2021/377 of the 2 March 2021).

The two standards have been prepared by two Working Groups, with the participation of experts from different European countries, within CEN/TC 145, whose Presidency and Secretariat have been managed by AMAPLAST since 1995 on behalf of UNI.

As indicated in Annex II of the above mentioned document, the previous versions of the two standards lose effectiveness on September 3, 2022.
