Founded in 1960 as ASSOCOMAPLAST and changing its name in 2017, AMAPLAST (Italian plastics and rubber processing machinery and moulds manufacturers' Association) is a non-profit association representing some 170 major Italian companies in the plastics and rubber machinery, ancillary equipment and moulds industry. The list of members, organized by name and product type, is available on the homepage of this website, while further information is available in the News section.
AMAPLAST’s main aim is to promote worldwide knowledge and circulation of Italian plastics and rubber processing technologies, which lead the world market in terms of production and exports. Since the early 1950s, Italian manufacturers have offered a complete range of original, reliable and innovative machines.
AMAPLAST members are classified as Effective Members (companies that design, manufacture and sell machines, equipment or moulds for plastics and rubber) and Associated Members (companies that complement the Effective Members).
AMAPLAST takes part in the main sectoral exhibitions abroad with an information booth to help visitors get in touch with Italian companies.
AMAPLAST owns 100% of the commercial company PROMAPLAST Srl, which has the aim of implementing the activity programs decided by the Board of Directors.
PROMAPLAST Srl publishes the bimonthly technical magazine MACPLAS, with a total circulation of 7,000 copies in Italy, as well as the internet version MACPLAS ONLINE (www.macplas.it/en/) and the bi-weekly newsletter MACPLAS E-NEWS. Localized editions are published during the principal world exhibitions to accompany the Italian collective pavilions.
Every three years, PROMAPLAST Srl organizes the international exhibition PLAST in Milan, the second largest trade fair in Europe. The 18th edition, from 29 May to 1 June 2018, featured 1,510 exhibitors from 55 countries and attracted 63,000 visitors from 117 countries (www.plastonline.org/en).
AMAPLAST, through CESAP (Centre for the Development of Plastics Applications), organizes technical training programmes and supports research and new applications of processing technologies and new materials for plastics processors and users.
AMAPLAST is a member of CONFINDUSTRIA (Confederation of Italian Industries) and EUROMAP (European Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association).
