K 2022 finally gets started, after great anticipation.
It is widely believed that the moment of global uncertainty, due to the well-known international vicissitudes, (war crisis, sanctions, expensive cost of electricity and high inflation, Covid pandemic – which is impacting more or less on the origin of some nations, such as China - critical issues in global supply chains, in particular regarding components, etc.) can have some impact on the attendance of local and international visitors.
As a matter of fact, the impression of the first day was of a slight drop in the turnout in the halls, compared to the same day of three years ago. Better the situation on the second day. However, some strikes on Friday - including the one of the flight controllers in Italy - could have further negative effects.
While waiting for the official statistics of Messe Düsseldorf - which, unlike in the past editions, did not communicate anything on the occasion of the usual press conference, at the end of the second exhibition day - impression and expectations are therefore oriented towards a probable decrease in the final number of visitors. Quality of the contacts has still to be evaluated but it seems to be high according to the exhibitors contacted by our Secretariat.
In terms of exhibition, K has confirmed once again as the world’s leading trade fair in our sector: 179,034 sqm of net exhibiting area (177.795 in 2019), 3,037 exhibitors (3,330 in 2019) from 60 countries (63 three years ago). As usual, Italy is the first foreign country as for exhibitors number (407 against 429 in 2019) and exhibiting area (27,597 sqm against 27,064 three years ago).
German exhibitors are, of course, undisputed leaders, although in slight decrease compared to 2019 (871 exhibitors on 66,940 sqm against 973 on 67,208 sqm in 2019, again in decrease compared to 1.039 exhibitors on 67.938 in 2016).
Finally, we remind you that AMAPLAST staff is on site in Hall 16 stand n. A56. We look forward to receive your visit to exchange opinions and comments, to enjoy a good Italian espresso as well as to receive information about the next edition of PLAST, which will be held in Milan from September 5 to 8, 2023.
