On Tuesday October 10th and on Friday 13th at UNI premises the plenary annual meetings of Technical Committee CEN/TC 145 and of Technical Committee ISO/TC 270, chaired respectively by Marc Schmitt from VDMA and Mario Maggiani AMAPLAST General Manager, took place.
In both meetings the delegations of France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and United Kingdom took part face-to-face or online. For the first time in the European meeting participated as Observer Saudi Arabia as well, whereas in ISO/TC 270 beside the above mentioned delegations the representatives of China, Japan and United States attended too.
As far as the activities for next year, at European level the standard EN 289:2014 concerning Compression moulding machines and transfer moulding machines will be revised and probably a study for a new standard on Hydraulic clamping systems for plastics and rubber machines will be activated.
In ISO/TC 270 it was decided to start the study of a safety standard on Blow moulding machines, that will certainly take into consideration the European standard EN 422:2009; this is in addition to the definition of a standard on Extruders and the relevant equipment, which has started two years ago.
